Baptismal Font, St. Austell

The Catholic Church, Saint. Augustine of Hippo in St. Austell, commissioned us to create an underwater scene for their baptismal font.

The theme for the font was fish - a strong Christian symbol - and as the font was the step-in variety, the design incorporated fish swimming down the steps into the centre of the font.

Designing tiles for public areas is always a challenge, but we found this commission especially so, as it was an important centre piece to this parish.
